About The Lush Life
All the quick tips you need to get your wine game on point--- from a professional lush sommelier.
Oh hey wine lover! I see you...
You #roseallday like a champ, your ideal brunch situation is powered by Prosecco, and book club is mainly an excuse to gather your girls around your favorite bottle of Pinot. But after you’ve mastered Malbec and slayed Sauv Blanc… what’s next?
Gaining a deeper knowledge of wine can help you shine in social situations, crush it in business, and add another layer of fabulous to your already fascinating self. Plus, exploring wine and connecting with friends and colleagues over cool new bottles is fun and delicious! But, where to even start if you have better things to do than spend your evenings reading The Wine Bible?
If you’re a wine lover that wants all the quick hits, but aren’t trying to guest star in Somm 4 anytime soon… The Lush Life is the place for you.
This is a wine-snob free zone.
I truly believe great wines should be enjoyed by everyone, and you shouldn’t need an advanced wine certification to make wine a supremely enjoyable part of your lifestyle. I don’t, and never have, written wine reviews (snoozeville, amiright?) and I’ll never tell you what not to drink.
Think of me as a cool new friend that also *happens* to be an accomplished sommelier. I did all the heavy lifting, studying, and certifications (aka all the geeky stuff), so you don’t have to! I’m here to keep you in the know about new wines to try and great wineries to visit on your next vacation; I give easy advice on how to walk down any wine aisle, anywhere, and effortlessly choose a bottle you will love; and I share simple tips on essentials like food & wine pairing and how to find killer wines that won’t break the bank.
That tinge of dread when the wine list drops next to you at a client dinner? Never fear; hang out here and you’ll be armed with more than enough wine smarts to pick out something amazing to spark a night of epic memories and conversations.

About Sarah Tracey, Founder
I’m a professional sommelier based in Brooklyn, with a certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and a passion for wine education: I’ve taught over 300 wine classes to date! I’m the wine contributor for MarthaStewart.com, where I’ve published over 60 articles on wine and entertaining, and I’m often tapped to share my best wine tips with outlets such as Food & Wine, Town & Country , Refinery 29, PureWow, Forbes, Brit + Co, Brides, The Salonniere, VinePair, and CheddarTV.
I launched The Lush Life in 2014 as an alternative to the typical wine blog of the day (which was almost exclusively older white dudes talking about their pricey wine collections), to deliver fresh and fun lifestyle content featuring wine and cocktails, entertaining how-tos, and wine news my friends could actually use! It started as a fun side hustle but quickly started to take on a life of its own… and last year I left my job as Wine Director of a Michelin-starred restaurant to create in this space full time.
Now my days look pretty different than they did when I was a full time restaurant employee! I get to travel often to wine regions around the world, I host events and create digital content on behalf of wineries and brands, and I produce fun and interactive private wine tastings for corporate groups and social occasions like milestone birthdays and bachelorettes.

Other fun facts about me: my idea of self-care is a solo Beyoncé dance party with a glass of rosé Champagne. I love hosting friends for Sunday evening dinner parties at my place, sometimes it’s fancy but usually super simple: think a perfect roast chicken with lemon and herbs, or just some fresh pasta with homemade pesto and a good bottle of chilled Chablis. If I could share a glass with any celebrity, it would be a toss-up between Michelle Obama and Ina Garten. My guilty pleasure is definitely HGTV (I think I’ve seen every Property Brothers ever made), and on weekends you can usually find me onstage, singing with New York’s Premiere Girl Group Tribute Band, The Chiclettes... or hanging out with my guitar and a glass of Syrah.
I also spend a ton of time on Instagram— come say hi!
