Sparkling Wine: Laherte Freres Blanc De Blancs Brut Nature Champagne, $44
The Laherte Freres Blanc de Blancs is a blend of Chardonnay planted on the estate’s chalkiest soils. It is the ideal Champagne for an aperitif or oyster pairing as it is bright and racy with a long and persistent finish with aromas of smoke, slate, crushed rocks, lemon peel and white flowers. Certified Organic, Practicing Biodynamic, 100% delicious!
Light-Bodied White Wine: Alois Lageder Benefizium Porer Pinot Grigio 2015, $34.99
This wine from Italy’s Alto Adige appellation is Biodynamic, organic, and sustainable. It’s a Brilliant straw-yellow color with a green shimmer. Very aromatic, opulent, uplifted varietal aroma paired with pronounced mineral notes and elegant oak spice. Clean, full-bodied flavor, quite soft and creamy, refined and with a fresh finish.
Full-Bodied White Wine: Ciro Picariello Fiano di Avellino 2016, $23.99
This wine made from the Fiano grape is indigenous to Campania in Southern Italy, sourced from vineyards around the winery in Summonte as well as in Montefredane in the province of Avellino. The wine shows typical Fiano flavors, with notes of hay, white flowers, and flint. Powerful and mineral.
Aromatic White Wine: Santa Julia Plus Torrontes 2015, $10.99
This is an organic Argentinian white with aromas of rose, orange peel, white peaches, fruits salad, chamomile and aromatic herbs, with a fresh flavor and light body. On the palate, flavors of pink grapefruit, ripe peaches and pears make this this is a lovely, balanced wine.
Rosé Wine: Banshee Rose 2017, $18.97
This rosé from California’s Central Coast is a blend of Grenache, Grenache Gris, Barbera, Syrah, and Pinot Noir from a biodynamic vineyard. Bright and aromatic, the aromas of white peach, citrus, and apricot blossom aromas unfold onto the palate with blood orange, rhubarb and pomegranate flavors. Lively acidity with great tension and verve with a chalky, saline quality.
Orange Wine: Pheasant's Tears Rkatsiteli 2015, $16.99
The 2015 vintage of this wine only has one month of skin contact, making it softer, less tannic and smoky than previous vintages that had a longer maceration period. Aged in qvevri, it's round, savory, and complex. Serve this one at cellar temperature.
Light-Bodied Red Wine: Red Car Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, $45
From California's Sonoma Coast comes this absolutely enchanting Pinot Noir. It's incredibly aromatic, with notes of rose and crushed violets, red cherries, and wild herbs. On the palate it's soft and elegant and brimming with red raspberry flavors. Sustainable farming that incorporates organic and biodynamic principles make this wine a conscious choice for an eco-friendly table.
Medium-Bodied Red Wine: Tami By Occhipinti Frappato 2016, $18.99
Tami is the sister label of up-and-coming natural winemaker Arianna Occhipinti from Vittoria in southeastern Sicily. The 2016 Frappato features a bright aroma of red fruits (think juicy strawberries and red raspberries), a medium body and a long, lingering finish. It’s farmed organically, fermented naturally, macerated for one week and aged six months in stainless steel.
Full-Bodied Red Wine: La Selve Palissaire 2014, $14.97
Made in the Coteaux de l'Ardeche, just west of the Rh̫one Valley, France, this blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon has a rustic nose of spicy black fruits, pepper and citrus zest. The organic and biodynamic agriculture has used with no chemical fertilizer, no weed-killer and no insecticide since 2002.
The 2014 Vin de Glaciere (aka ‘ice wine’, because the grapes are harvested after the first frost where the freezing temperatures concentrate their sugars) grew and was harvested in a warm year that offered tropical fruit aromatics of mango and pineapple. One hundred percent fermented and aged in stainless steel, preserving the fruit’s intensity.
